The Authentic Self with Mike Fisher

In this video, The Anger Guru, Mike Fisher, explores the concept of the authentic self and how being true to oneself can lead to greater happiness and fulfillment. He discusses the importance of identifying and understanding one’s values and beliefs and the role that past experiences and conditioning can play in shaping our sense of self.

Throughout the video, The Anger Guru provides practical advice to help viewers connect with their authentic selves, including journaling prompts and guided meditations. He emphasizes the importance of self-awareness and self-acceptance. He encourages viewers to let go of the need for external validation or approval, saying that the ‘nice guy’ persona doesn’t always serve you.

Anger Management specialist Mike Fisher also touches on the relationship between authenticity and anger management, noting that suppressing or denying our true selves can lead to feelings of frustration and resentment. By embracing our authentic selves, however, we can develop a greater sense of inner peace and calm. Developing the ability to hold the tension of two opposing views is a sign of emotional maturity and Fisher encourages us to stop thinking in terms of ‘good’ ‘bad’ ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ thinking; in other words, letting go of our judgments.

  1. I agree with you entirely about the importance of language. I too am often awestruck by those who manage to communicate authentically on FB without their followers commenting on a word or sentence that they took offence to. This is what has held me back from sharing more on social media – the fear of offending someone and the fear of being judged. However, this fear is also inhibiting my authenticity and the fact that I could make a valuable contribution to someone. I have decided to throw myself out there into the world of social media whilst doing my best to use language that is inclusive and non-judgmental. Wish me luck!
